Last Veterans Day, Amazon recognized veterans with $40 off the regular Amazon Prime price. From Nov 6-11, veterans, active-duty troops and Guard and Reserve members received an Amazon Prime membership for $79. For those already with a Prime membership, they could renew at the lower rate.

Eligibility requirements include:
- Verification of government assistance

- The Student Amazon Prime Discount includes all the perks of the regular prime membership except for access to Prime Music, Prime Instant Video, or Kindle Lending Library. However, if you are eligible, the student membership includes a free six month trial and costs only $59 per year after the trial.
