Does GM Offer a Military Discount?

Yes! GM offers a variety of discounts to military members online and at local dealerships. Those eligible can go online to start shopping for the perfect Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac car. Once they’ve found what they want, military members can verify their identity through ID.me and then locate a dealership that has their vehicle.

GM also has a variety of cash and financing offers for leasing cars, including GM Rewards and Financial solutions. Military members can also receive 20% off most Connected Services and OnStar plans.

Who Qualifies for the Discount?

All members of the military can apply for the GM Military Discount through ID.me. The discount includes:

  • Active duty members of the armed forces
  • Military retirees
  • Military veterans
  • All veterans receiving VA benefits
  • Immediate family members

Veteran users will need to select “Check Military Service Records” in order for the system to verify, and retired users will need to select “Upload Military Documentation” for verification.

How Do I Qualify?

To qualify for any of the GM Military Discounts, simply go to their online portal and decide which option makes the most sense for you. You can start shopping by building and pricing out your dream car, check out exclusive lease offers, sign up for My GM Rewards or sign up for one of GM’s services or plans.

Once you’ve decided what you want, you’ll need to get your Authorization Number by verifying your military background through ID.me. The process is simple, but make sure to read the instructions since a slightly different process applies for active duty members, veterans and retirees. Once you’re verified, you can locate a dealership to take care of your needs.

GM offers various incentives throughout the year for GM Rewards Members. The current promotion for cardmembers is a cash bonus of up to $3000 towards the purchase of a new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac. Offer is valid through March 1, 2021. Click here for more details.
